Thanks to Design Sound, our reception felt more like a live concert at an outdoor amphitheater than a wedding for 140 guests! To top it all off, the staff was well mannered, well dressed and polite. The band was beyond great!! We have heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests. Even though the setting and food were outstanding, many said that it was the band the put the event to the top level. Everyone in the band seemed to genuinely be happy to be there. The band played the standard Sinatra song “New York, New York”. About a half an hour later I asked if they could play the other Sinatra favorite “My Way”. It was not on the playlist, but they winged it perfectly - especially the guitar playing singer.

If we or any of our friends have an occasion that requires a band, we will strongly recommend West Coast Music.

The Cowling Band Rocked Last night!!! They had EVERYONE out on the dance floor around 11:00 when it started raining...many people left at this time, but about 80 to 100 people hung in and waited the rain out, the band then dried off and started rocking again until 12:30! The Cowling Band was absolutely wonderful at our wedding on 12/30. All of our guests were raving about the band the entire night and asking us how we found them. I just wanted to pass along our delight in the terrific work of the Rick Cowling Band. Rick and his crew were most frequently mentioned as THE high point of Mike and Mallory's wedding celebration. They played a terrific selection of music that touched every age group and their energy was infectious. The dance floor was filled with smiling people from their first note through the last. Their musicianship was superb, and I offer that evaluation as a life-long musician myself. Rick and his band took our event to a whole new height. It's that simple. One of my favorite comments on the evening came from a friend of our families to my wife. This person said "I have never been at a wedding reception where everyone of every age had such a great time. No surprise, Rick and the band were the hit of our wedding reception. I cannot count the number of guests that reported back to us how 'incredible/fabulous/amazing' the music was. Just wanted to thank you again for all of your help! The Cowling Band was amazing and far surpassed any expectations that I had going in to the evening. My main goal of the night was to get everyone out on the dance floor and I certainly did not need to worry about achieving it! Rick and the band were honestly out of this world. I can't tell you the number of guests that came up to me to comment on how it was the best band they had ever seen. One of the guests is on the social committee at The Vintage Club and he said that he is definitely going to get the band back to the club for more events. I suggested the NYE party! We just recently had The Cowling Band come from LA to play at my wedding in Dallas, TX. I had heard how great they were and knew I had to have them for my wedding. They were beyond amazing!! The dance floor was packed and people were constantly asking me who the band was. People were coming up to me and telling me it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I know The Cowling Band played a huge part in that! They were THAT good. The only thing I regret is that we didn't book them for longer. When they finished at 12:30 no one wanted them to quit playing! My mom asked them to play one more song, and they did, which was great. They were extremely professional and accommodating. I don't think there is anything they can't play! I really just can't say enough about them. Highly, highly recommended.

The Cowling Band was amazing. During the wedding and in the last few days people have told us that they were the best band they've experienced. Even the wait-captain at the Athenaeum told my husband that they are the best band he's ever heard play at the Athenaeum and he's heard a lot of bands! The friends of my daughter and son-in-law are in their mid to late 20's and while no longer kids as they are now lawyers, medical residents, management consultants, etc. were clamoring at the end for the band to play on - which of course they could not due to the time limits. But this group was clearly disappointed that the music had to end.
In short, they were a professional, highly talented group who handled a large range of music with ease. The range of singing talent was truly astounding. We will be recommending them to one and all!
